In Between Time

Visual identity design for international performing arts festival

We were commissioned to redesign the visual identity for the IBT15 festival. This included the design of a lead image – to be used in various formats across print and web, festival programme, website, billboards and flyers.

IBT is a bi-annual international festival of theatre, dance, clubs and take overs. Now in it’s 6th major biennial, IBT15 focuses on art as a powerful force for change under the title of ‘Enter The Storm’. Over 50 art works from the world’s most exciting artists surge across arts venues, streets, gardens, stately homes and major thoroughfares, will take place over a four day period in February 2015.

IBT commissioned us to design the visual identity for IBT15. This would include the design of a lead image – to be used in various formats across print and web, festival programme, website, billboards and flyers. Since the theme of the festival is ‘enter the storm’, we commissioned designer Craig Minchington to create a powerful image of a tornado striking a bridge which formed the basis for the visual identity of the festival.

Elements and textures from the image were repurposed throughout the festival programme and website to create texture and an atmospheric look and feel. The typography within the programme was deliberately offset and subtle graphic elements applied to support the theme.
